Job Description As a Security Officer - Access Control Desk in Hanahan, SC , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. Join Allied Universal at a busy logistics and distribution location where you will manage access control, greet and direct visitors and drivers, and help maintain a professional, security-related presence. You will conduct routine patrols, monitor entry points and activity, and document incidents and observations. Working with a caring, agile team, you will use clear communication and integrity to help support smooth operations while providing customer-focused service throughout the shift.

Requirements

  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to personnel, drivers, and visitors by carrying out access control procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a logistics and distribution location.
  • Control entry and exit at gates and/or access points by verifying identification, issuing and collecting badges, maintaining visitor and vehicle logs, and directing traffic flow for cars, trailers, and deliveries.
  • Monitor alarms, access control systems, and CCTV as assigned, document security-related activity, and communicate concerns to site contacts and/or Allied Universal supervision to help to deter unauthorized access.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including dispatching appropriate notifications, assisting with area control, and completing detailed reports.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the building, yard, and perimeter, checking doors, docks, and restricted areas; working environments and conditions may vary by location.
