Job Description As a Security Officer - Access Control Driver in Oakland, IA , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Manufacturing & Industrial, and more. As an Access Control Officer at a busy manufacturing and industrial location, you will manage entry points, verify credentials, issue visitor badges, and document activity using site technology. You will perform security-related checks and visible presence to help discourage incidents while delivering strong customer service and clear communication. This is a driving post requiring a valid driver’s license, and you will support Allied Universal’s agile, reliable, innovative, people-first culture through teamwork and integrity.

Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients and site personnel by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, access control requirements, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Control entry and exit for employees, contractors, visitors, and delivery drivers by verifying identification and/or authorization, issuing credentials as directed, and maintaining accurate visitor and vehicle logs.
  • Monitor alarms, cameras, and access control systems; report irregular activity, maintenance issues, and policy concerns through required notifications and documentation.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including coordinating communications with site contacts and public emergency services when directed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of entrances, staging areas, and the perimeter to help to deter unauthorized access and/or suspicious activity, with working environments and conditions varying by location.
