As an Allied Universal Security Officer on an access control post at a busy logistics and distribution location, you will greet drivers and visitors, verify credentials, manage entry and exit points, and document activity while staying highly visible. Requirements

  • Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • A guard card and/or guard license is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a logistics and distribution location.
  • Control access at vehicle and pedestrian entry points by checking identification, verifying credentials, issuing temporary badges, and maintaining visitor and contractor logs.
  • Coordinate with warehouse and shipping and/or receiving teams to manage driver check-in, direct deliveries and pickups to designated areas, and report irregular access requests.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, completing required notifications and documentation.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of the facility, docks, yard, and perimeter, and monitor alarms and camera systems to help identify and report unusual activity.
