About The Position

As a Security Officer - Access Control Driver in Kansas City, MO, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Transportation, and more. As an Access Control Officer at a busy transportation location, you will manage entry points, verify identification, monitor cameras and alarms, and conduct routine patrols to help deter security-related incidents. You will communicate clearly with drivers, staff, and visitors while documenting activity and responding to concerns with integrity. Allied Universal values being agile, reliable, innovative, and people first through teamwork. This is a driving post requiring a valid driver's license and age 21 or older.

Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
  • Be 21+ years of age.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors, drivers, and employees by following Allied Universal post orders, site-specific policies, and access control procedures at a transportation location.
  • Control entry and exit by verifying identification, issuing visitor credentials when authorized, checking deliveries and pickups, and maintaining accurate access logs and/or visitor records.
  • Monitor CCTV and access control systems, report security-related concerns, and help to deter unauthorized entry by communicating issues promptly to site management and/or Allied Universal leadership.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including activating emergency response activities as directed by post orders.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of entrances, parking areas, docks, and perimeter points as assigned, noting hazards, damaged property, and unusual activity and documenting observations in required reports.
