About The Position

As a Security Officer - Access Control Gate in Madison, WI, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. Join Allied Universal at a fast-paced logistics and distribution location where your access control skills keep operations moving. You will greet drivers and team members, verify credentials, manage badges and visitor logs, and monitor entries and exits to help support a secure environment. You may conduct routine patrols and stay highly visible while documenting security-related activity and communicating clearly with site leadership, delivering service with integrity, teamwork, and innovation.

Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients and guests by following security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities at a high-volume logistics and distribution location.
  • Control access at entry points by checking identification, verifying credentials, issuing temporary badges, and maintaining visitor and contractor logs in accordance with site requirements.
  • Monitor inbound and outbound traffic including employees, visitors, and/or commercial vehicles, coordinating with operations staff to confirm appointments, shipping and receiving instructions, and restricted-area access.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and reporting to site leadership and Allied Universal supervision as directed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of access points, dock areas, and perimeter lines to help to identify unusual activity, unsecured doors, and/or policy violations, with working conditions that may vary by location.
