As an Allied Universal Access Control Officer at a government location, you will greet employees and visitors, verify credentials, manage badges and visitor logs, and help monitor entry points and key areas. You will stay visible, conduct routine rounds as assigned, document incidents, and communicate clearly with staff and first responders. Requirements
- Have 3 or more years of combined law enforcement, military, and/or security-related experience or a college degree.
- Be 21 or more years of age.
- Have 5 or more years of security-related experience.
- CPR and First Aid certification is preferred and may be completed post hire.
- A guard card and/or license is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and contractors by following site-specific procedures for entry, identification, and access authorization in a government location.
- Control access points by verifying credentials, issuing and/or retrieving visitor passes, maintaining visitor logs, and directing guests to the appropriate departments.
- Monitor alarms, cameras, and other access control systems, reporting irregular activity and completing detailed incident and shift documentation per policy.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, coordinating with site personnel and emergency services as needed.
- Conduct regular and random patrols around the building and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized access and/or suspicious activity; working environments and conditions may vary by location.
