As an Allied Universal Security Officer at a healthcare location, you will support access control by verifying badges, managing visitor entry, and assisting staff with a professional, service-focused approach. You will monitor assigned areas, conduct routine patrols, and maintain a visible presence that may help reduce security-related incidents. Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to lift more than 20 lbs is preferred.
  • Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to patients, visitors, and staff by carrying out access control procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a healthcare location.
  • Monitor entry points and interior access-controlled areas, verify identification and visitor authorization, issue visitor credentials, and maintain visitor and delivery logs per site requirements.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including medical facility alarms, access disputes, and unauthorized entry attempts, and escalate to site leadership and/or public responders as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the facility and perimeter, observe for unusual activity and access control concerns, and report maintenance hazards and/or operational issues through established channels.
  • Complete routine reports and incident documentation, use access control systems and communication tools, and support patient privacy practices by directing questions and foot traffic to appropriate departments.
