Job Description As a Security Officer - Access Control in Dayville, CT , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. As an Access Control Officer with Allied Universal at a busy retail location, you will greet associates and visitors, manage entry points, verify credentials, and help guide people to the right areas. You will conduct routine rounds, document security-related activity, and communicate clearly with store leadership to help reduce incidents. Requirements

  • Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Possession of a guard card and/or license is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients and guests at a retail location by following Allied Universal procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities as needed.
  • Control access at entrances and receiving areas by checking identification, issuing visitor badges, maintaining visitor logs, and directing deliveries to appropriate points of contact.
  • Monitor cameras and alarm panels and complete access control documentation such as key, badge, and/or incident reports in accordance with site requirements.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, contacting site management and/or emergency services when appropriate.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of sales floors, common areas, back-of-house corridors, and the perimeter to help to deter unauthorized access and other security-related concerns.
