About The Position
As a Security Officer - Credential Desk in CHANNAHON , IL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Chemical/Petrochemical, and more. Join Allied Universal at a chemical and petrochemical location where you will help manage access control, verify credentials, and support visitor and employee entry with clear communication and professional customer service. You will conduct routine patrols, monitor assigned areas, and remain visible to help reduce security-related incidents, while documenting activity and collaborating with site teams. Requirements
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

- Access Control/Badge Experience is preferred.
- Customer Service Experience is preferred.
- Comfortable Using Computer or Tablet is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to clients and site personnel by following security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a chemical and/or petrochemical location.
- Control access to the facility by verifying identification and/or authorization, issuing visitor credentials, managing entry and exit logs, and directing visitors, contractors, and deliveries to designated check-in areas.
- Monitor access control points, gates, and surrounding areas using approved methods and systems, documenting unusual activity and escalating concerns per post orders.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including initiating notifications, completing required reports, and supporting arriving responders.
- Conduct regular and random patrols around the business and perimeter, checking doors, fences, and controlled areas to help to deter unauthorized entry and/or policy violations.
