Job Description As a Security Officer - Access Control in Saint George, UT , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. As an Access Control Officer at a busy retail and mall location, you will help manage entry points, verify credentials, monitor activity, and communicate clearly with associates and visitors. You will conduct routine patrols, stay visible to help reduce security-related incidents, and support a positive shopping experience through strong customer service. Requirements

  • Possession of a guard card and/or license is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service by carrying out Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities at a retail location.
  • Control access for team members, vendors, and visitors by verifying identification, managing sign-in and sign-out activity, issuing visitor credentials, and directing foot traffic to appropriate areas.
  • Monitor entrances, exits, receiving areas, and/or sales floor activity for policy violations and unusual conditions, and report concerns per post orders.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including contacting site management and/or emergency services as directed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the store, common areas, and perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and support loss prevention objectives.
