Job Description As a Security Officer - Access Screening Specialist in Northampton, PA , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. As an Access Control Officer at a busy logistics and distribution location, you will help manage entry and exit points, verify credentials, and support badge and visitor processes while staying visible and approachable. You will conduct routine patrols, document security-related activity, and communicate clearly with employees, drivers, and guests. Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
  • Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a logistics and distribution location.
  • Control access at entry and exit points by verifying identification, managing visitor and contractor check-in and/or check-out, issuing temporary badges, and directing traffic to designated areas.
  • Monitor gate activity and security-related systems such as CCTV and access logs, report irregular conditions, and complete required documentation for shipments, deliveries, and visitor activity.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating to site leadership and/or emergency services as needed and following post orders.
  • Support a controlled environment by screening inbound and outbound personnel and vehicles, enforcing posted site rules, and helping to deter unauthorized access and/or theft.
