About The Position

As a Security Officer - Armed Patrol Driver in Largo, FL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a government location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, complete routine rounds, and maintain a visible presence that may help to deter security-related incidents. You will interact with staff and visitors, provide clear communication, and document observations and/or response activities. This post requires a valid driver’s license and involves driving and armed duties while supporting a team that values agility, reliability, innovation, and integrity.

Requirements

• A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• Be a graduate of a law enforcement or military police training program or equivalent.
• Provide proof of a high school diploma or GED as required by the client.
• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Have at least 2 years of law enforcement and/or military and/or corrections experience.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients and visitors by following Allied Universal procedures, site-specific post orders, and/or emergency response activities at a government location.
• Carry and maintain issued equipment in accordance with applicable laws, licensing requirements, and post instructions, and complete required checks at the start and end of shift.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, coordinating with onsite personnel and/or local public agencies as directed.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols on foot and/or by vehicle throughout buildings, parking areas, and perimeter routes, documenting observations and reporting hazards or suspicious activity.
• Monitor access points, cameras, and/or alarm systems; verify authorization for entry; and complete detailed incident and activity reports in accordance with site procedures.
