As an Armed Patrol Officer in a government location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence that helps to deter incidents, and respond to security-related concerns with calm, professional communication. This is an armed post requiring a valid armed guard card/license and a valid driver’s license under AU driver policy requirements. Requirements

  • An armed guard card/license is required.
  • A minimum of 6 months of armed security-related, law enforcement, and/or military experience is required.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to personnel and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, location-specific policies and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a government corrections setting.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including de-escalation support and timely notification to on-site leadership and/or public agency partners.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols of buildings, grounds and perimeter areas; working environments and conditions may vary by location.
  • Monitor access control points, verify identification and authorization, and document entries, exits and security-related events in logs and/or electronic systems.
  • Assist with contraband awareness, perimeter breach response support and coordination during movements and restricted-area activities as directed by post orders.
