As an Armed Security Officer at a commercial real estate location, you will manage access control, check credentials, and maintain a professional, welcoming presence for residents, tenants, and guests. You will conduct routine patrols, document security-related activity, and communicate clearly with the team and property staff to help reduce incidents. This is a driving post, requiring a valid driver’s license, and offers a culture built on integrity, teamwork, agility, and care.

Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
  • A minimum of 1 plus year of armed security experience is required.
  • An armed guard card/license is required.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • A state, county, or city issued security license is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to tenants, residents, guests, and vendors by following site-specific security-related procedures, access control policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Control access at entry points by verifying identification and/or credentials, managing visitor and vendor sign-in, issuing temporary passes when authorized, and directing authorized individuals to the correct location.
  • Monitor cameras, alarms, gates, and entry systems for irregular activity and report concerns per post orders to help deter unauthorized entry and/or policy violations.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including documenting events and communicating with on-site management and/or public services as required.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of common areas, parking areas, and the perimeter, noting maintenance issues and/or unusual conditions and reporting findings according to site procedures.
