Job Description As a Security Officer - Armed Inmate Transport in Punta Gorda, FL , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a government location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine patrols, stay visible to help to deter security-related incidents, and support public-facing operations with strong communication and customer service. This is a driving post requiring a valid drivers license and an armed post, so you will be prepared to respond professionally while living our agile, reliable, innovative, people-first, integrity-driven culture.

Requirements

• Have 2 or more years of law enforcement, military police, and/or corrections experience.
• Be a graduate of a law enforcement or military police training program or equivalent.
• Hold an armed guard card and/or license.
• The client requires proof of a high school diploma or GED.
• Be at least 21 years of age.
• A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to personnel and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities at a government location.
• Conduct armed foot and/or vehicle patrols of buildings, parking areas, and perimeter routes to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify unusual conditions.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including dispatch notifications, scene control, and documentation support as directed.
• Monitor access points and controlled areas, verify credentials as required, and assist with visitor management while maintaining a professional presence.
• Complete detailed written reports, activity logs, and incident documentation, and communicate observations to Allied Universal leadership and site contacts as needed.
