Job Description As a Security Officer Armed - Patrol and Access Control in Reading, PA , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Hospitals, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer in a health-care location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and deliver outstanding customer service and communication. You will support daily operations with professionalism, teamwork, and integrity while contributing to a caring, agile, reliable, and innovative culture at Allied Universal.

Requirements

Possess 1 or more years of armed security-related, law enforcement, and/or military experience.
Possess an Act 235 qualification for positions in Pennsylvania only.
Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
A valid firearms permit is preferred.
Customer service experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and/or contractors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a hospital.
Respond to incidents, alarms, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and communicating with site contacts and/or local responders as needed.
Conduct regular and random patrols throughout buildings, production areas, parking areas, and the perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and report unusual conditions.
Monitor access points and verify entry permissions for authorized personnel, visitors, and/or deliveries in accordance with site protocols and post orders.
Maintain readiness to perform armed post duties in compliance with Allied Universal guidelines, applicable laws, and site requirements while using sound judgment during security-related responses.
