As an Armed Patrol Officer at a government location, you will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help to deter security-related incidents, and respond to concerns with calm, clear communication. This is an armed and driving post requiring a valid driver’s license and an armed guard card or license. Requirements

  • Possess an armed guard card/license.
  • Be 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to our clients by carrying out armed, security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a government corrections environment.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including coordinating with site leadership and local first responders as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols of assigned buildings, housing and/or administrative areas, parking areas, and perimeter zones; working environments and conditions may vary by location.
  • Monitor access control points and verify credentials for staff, contractors, and visitors, helping to deter unauthorized entry and/or prohibited items.
  • Complete security-related reports and logs, document unusual activity, and communicate observations to Allied Universal supervision and site representatives.
