As an Armed Patrol Officer at a government location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, complete routine patrols, maintain a visible presence that helps to discourage incidents, and respond to security-related concerns with clear communication and strong customer service. This is an armed post requiring an Armed Guard Card and/or License. Requirements

  • Possess an armed guard card and/or license.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • CPR and/or First Aid certification is preferred and may be completed post hire.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to government facility staff and visitors by following security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Conduct armed patrols on foot and/or by vehicle throughout buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter points, with working conditions varying by location.
  • Monitor access points and help to control entry and exit for employees, vendors, and the public, including screening, verifying identification, and/or issuing visitor credentials as required by post orders.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, coordinating with site personnel and local public agencies as needed.
  • Complete required reports and logs, document incidents and patrol activities, and communicate observations and/or concerns to supervisors and client representatives.
