Requirements

  • Possess a valid armed guard card/license.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and vendors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or appropriate emergency response activities in a healthcare location.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, medical emergencies, and/or other critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner while supporting hospital protocols and staff directions.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout buildings, parking areas, entrances, and perimeter locations to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or identify unusual conditions.
  • Monitor access points and help to control entry and exit activity, verify credentials when required, and/or report security-related concerns, hazards, and suspicious behavior to the appropriate personnel.
  • Complete incident reports, document daily activities, and/or communicate clearly with supervisors, local authorities, and site contacts regarding security-related events and response actions.
