Requirements

  • Be a graduate of a law enforcement or military police training program or equivalent.
  • Have at least 1 year of law enforcement experience or 2 years of security-related supervisor/manager experience or 3 years of security-related experience.
  • Possess an armed guard card/license.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Handcuffing certification is preferred.
  • A guard card/license is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and/or contractors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government location.
  • Respond to incidents, unusual activity, and/or critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, and communicate observations to site contacts and/or Allied Universal leadership.
  • Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols throughout assigned buildings, grounds, entry points, and perimeter areas to help identify unusual conditions and policy concerns.
  • Monitor access points and activity within assigned areas, verify credentials when required, and document security-related incidents, observations, and/or daily activities in accordance with site procedures.
  • Support order at the location by following post instructions, assisting with directional information, and reporting maintenance, hazard, and/or procedural issues to the appropriate personnel.
