You will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help to deter security-related incidents, and support staff and visitors with professional customer service and clear communication. You will respond to calls for service, document activities, and work as part of an agile, reliable, and innovative team that acts with integrity. Armed guard card or license required.

Requirements

• Have 1+ years' armed security/law enforcement/military experience.
• Have an armed guard card/license.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors and staff by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government library location.
• Carry and maintain issued equipment for an armed post in accordance with state and local requirements and site instructions, and communicate clearly with site contacts and public responders as needed.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including conflict de-escalation and documenting actions taken.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of interior public areas, staff-only areas, entrances, and the exterior perimeter, observing for conditions that could help to deter unwanted activity.
• Complete detailed reports and logs, including patrol observations, incident details, and follow-up actions, using written and/or electronic reporting tools.
