As an Access Control Officer with Allied Universal at a logistics and distribution location, you will help manage entry points, check credentials, issue badges, and support visitor and employee check-in using a computer and/or tablet. You will conduct routine patrols and remain visible to help discourage security-related incidents, while delivering clear communication and customer service. Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Customer Service Experience - preferred.
  • Comfortable Using Computer or Tablet - preferred.
  • Access Control/Badge Experience - preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors, drivers, and associates by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a logistics and distribution location.
  • Control access at gates, guard shacks, and/or entry points by verifying identification, issuing visitor credentials, checking appointments, and directing traffic to designated areas.
  • Process inbound and outbound truck activity by checking bills of lading and/or shipping paperwork as required, logging entries and exits, and communicating with onsite personnel regarding dock assignments.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including reporting unusual activity and completing detailed activity and incident documentation.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of entrances, staging areas, trailer yards, and the perimeter to help to deter unauthorized access and/or suspicious activity.
