As a Security Officer Campus Building Patrol in Irvine, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. As an unarmed patrol officer with Allied Universal at a retail and mall location, you will conduct routine foot patrols, stay highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents, and respond to concerns with calm, clear communication. You will support guests, tenants, and staff through strong customer service while documenting observations and reporting issues. Bring integrity, teamwork, and an agile, caring approach to each shift.
Requirements
- Have 1+ years of security-related experience.
- Be 21+ years of age.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
Nice To Haves
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- A guard card/license is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to tenants, guests, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a retail and shopping center location.
- Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols throughout common areas, parking areas, loading areas, and along the exterior perimeter; working environments and conditions may vary by site.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including assisting with de-escalation, documenting observations, and notifying appropriate personnel as needed.
- Monitor entrances, service corridors, and high-traffic areas to help to deter unauthorized activity, theft-related concerns, and policy violations, and/or report issues to site management.
- Complete patrol logs, incident reports, and shift handoffs per Allied Universal and site requirements, and/or communicate clearly with site contacts and local emergency services when requested.
