About The Position

As a Security Officer - Campus Perimeter Patrol in Columbus, OH, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Utilities, Cultural Institutions, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol dynamic public spaces supporting utilities and cultural destinations, helping to identify and report security-related concerns. You will conduct routine foot patrols, stay visible to help to deter unwanted activity, assist visitors with directions and questions, and communicate clearly with site contacts and your team. Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, vendors, and/or staff by carrying out security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random foot patrols of public spaces, walkways, restrooms, parking areas, and perimeter points to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or damage to property.
• Monitor and/or control access to restricted areas related to utility operations and cultural facilities by verifying credentials, directing foot traffic, and reporting suspicious activity.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including coordinating with site representatives and public emergency services as needed.
• Document patrol activities, maintenance hazards, and/or incidents using written reports and technology systems, and communicate status updates to Allied Universal supervision.
