Security Officer - Checkpoint Screener
About The Position
As a Security Officer - Checkpoint Screener in Shepherdsville, KY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. As a Screener with Allied Universal at a leading tech and logistics location, you will help manage entry screening and access procedures, verify credentials, observe for prohibited items, and document activity with clear communication. You will remain visible, conduct routine rounds in assigned areas as needed, and deliver customer-focused assistance to employees and visitors. Bring integrity, teamwork, and an agile, innovative mindset to support day-to-day security-related operations.
Requirements
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to clients by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a tech and/or media location.
- Screen employees, visitors, and contractors at entry points by verifying identification, confirming authorization, and directing individuals to the appropriate check-in process.
- Conduct security-related screening of bags, packages, and equipment as required by site policy, and document findings and/or escalate concerns through the established chain of communication.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including reporting hazards, suspicious activity, and policy violations.
- Complete required logs, screening records, and incident reports, and communicate relevant updates to site management and/or Allied Universal leadership.
