About The Position
As a Security Officer - Checkpoint Screening in Edgerton, KS, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. As a Screener with Allied Universal at a leading tech location, you will greet employees and visitors, manage entry points, and conduct screening procedures such as bag checks and walkthrough screening while maintaining a professional, welcoming presence. You will communicate clearly, document security-related activity, and help to deter incidents through visibility and prompt reporting. Requirements
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a tech-focused location.
- Screen employees, visitors and/or contractors at entry points by verifying identification, checking credentials and managing access per site requirements.
- Operate screening equipment and conduct visual inspections of bags, packages and/or deliveries in accordance with posted guidelines and escalation protocols.
- Respond to incidents, alarms and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting details and communicating with site contacts as needed.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of the facility, work areas and perimeter, monitoring for unusual activity and reporting maintenance issues or policy concerns.
