About The Position

As a Security Officer - Clearance Required in Santa Monica, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Shelter, and more. Join Allied Universal as an unarmed, driving patrol officer supporting a shelter location. You will conduct routine foot and vehicle patrols, stay highly visible to help discourage security-related incidents, respond to reports and alarms, and communicate clearly with staff and guests. Requirements

• A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
• Have at least 1+ years of security-related experience.
• Possess an active DoD Secret clearance.
• Be at least 21+ years of age.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to residents, staff, and visitors by following Allied Universal procedures, site-specific post orders, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a shelter location.
• Conduct regular and random foot patrols of interior and exterior areas, including entrances, common areas, and perimeter spaces, to help to deter unwanted activity and/or policy violations.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including conflict de-escalation, notifying site leadership, and/or contacting emergency services when required.
• Monitor access control points by observing arrivals and departures, verifying authorization when required, and directing individuals to appropriate areas in accordance with site-specific policies.
• Document security-related activities such as patrol observations, resident and/or visitor concerns, and incident details in written reports and logs in a timely manner.
