As a Security Officer - Contractor Entry Driver in Columbia, SC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Allied Universal Security Officer at a government facility, you will support access control by greeting staff and visitors, verifying credentials, managing sign-ins, and monitoring cameras and alarms to help reduce security-related incidents. You will communicate clearly, document activity, and collaborate with site teams while reflecting our agile, reliable, and innovative approach, a caring culture, and integrity. This is a driving post requiring a valid driver’s license.

Requirements

• A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• COLA: DPSS/DHS – Tuberculosis test/MMR vaccinations are required.
• Applicants must be 21+ years of age.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients and visitors by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities as needed.
• Manage access control at a government location by verifying identification, processing sign-in and/or sign-out, issuing visitor credentials, and directing authorized individuals to the appropriate area.
• Monitor entry points and controlled areas through observation and use of approved systems to help to deter unauthorized entry and/or prohibited items.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including initiating notifications, documenting events, and coordinating with onsite staff and/or local responders.
• Complete required reports and logs, communicate shift activity to the next officer, and support order and accountability within the facility by enforcing posted rules and site directives.
