About The Position

As a Security Officer - Controlled Access Control Driver in Lakeland, FL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. Join Allied Universal at a government location where you will manage access control, verify credentials, greet visitors, and monitor entry points to help maintain an orderly environment. You will stay visible, communicate clearly, document activity, and respond to security-related concerns with professionalism and strong customer service. This is a driving post requiring a valid driver’s license, and you will thrive in a caring, agile, reliable, and innovative team that leads with integrity.

Requirements

  • Have at least 1+ years of security experience.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • A Guard Card/license is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors and staff while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government location.
  • Control access at entry points by verifying identification and/or authorization, issuing visitor credentials as directed, and maintaining visitor and delivery logs.
  • Monitor entry and exit activity and report unusual behavior, prohibited items, and/or policy violations to site leadership and Allied Universal supervision.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including coordinating notifications and documenting actions taken.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the facility and perimeter as required by post orders; working environments and conditions may vary by site.
