About The Position
As a Security Officer - Credential Checkpoint in Sparrows Point, MD, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. Join Allied Universal at a fast-paced logistics and distribution location where you will support access control and security-related duties across entrances, docks, and key areas. You will greet employees and drivers, verify credentials, manage visitor check-in, and conduct routine patrols and reporting that help to deter incidents. Requirements
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to clients, drivers, visitors, and on-site personnel by following Allied Universal procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
- Operate access control at gates and/or entry points by verifying identification, checking credentials, managing sign-in and sign-out logs, and directing vehicle and foot traffic within the distribution location.
- Monitor inbound and outbound shipments, trailers, and yard activity for unusual conditions, documenting observations and reporting concerns per site procedures.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, completing detailed reports and communicating with site leadership and/or public responders as needed.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of buildings, dock areas, parking lots, and perimeter points to help to deter unauthorized access and support security-related operations.
