About The Position

Barbier Security Group (BSG) is looking for dedicated individuals who enjoy providing the essential role of a Security Officer in a Crisis Stabilization Unit (CSU) setting. This site is located in Marin County. Our CSU Security Officers are often the first point of contact for individuals in distress, representing both the facility and BSG with professionalism and compassion. They will assist with the functions of physical and personal security and safety measures for members, patients, staff, and visitors while ensuring the team is proactive in following clinical directive. Shift: Swing and Grave Shifts (Weekend availability required) Hourly Rate: $26.00 per hour. Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Eligibility to work in the United States.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Possess a current California Guard Card License.
  • A valid Driver's License and a clean driving record are required for applicable sites.
  • Reliable transportation is necessary.
  • Proficient in basic computer and smartphone usage.
  • Must be able to speak, read, and write in English to create accurate reports; additional language skills are a plus.
  • Strong listening skills, patience, and compassion, particularly when interacting with community members experiencing emotional or psychological challenges.
  • Ability to remain calm in crisis situations, think critically, de-escalate conflicts, and communicate effectively.
  • Maintain a positive, professional demeanor in adherence to all laws, regulations, company policies, and confidentiality standards.
  • Ensure compliance with both company and client policies and procedures while being open to performance improvement.
  • Possess a clear understanding of emergency response procedures and protocols.
  • At least one year of experience in security, mobile patrol, or event staff roles.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Successfully pass a background check and drug screening.
  • Performs other related duties, as assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Patrol and Surveillance: Perform regular patrols of assigned areas, including multi-level buildings and outdoor spaces, while standing or walking for extended periods
  • Climb stairs frequently to inspect all areas thoroughly.
  • Incident Response: Respond swiftly to emergencies or incidents, including sprinting short distances if necessary.
  • Use manual dexterity to operate security equipment such as radios, keys, and locks efficiently.
  • Equipment Handling: Lift and carry equipment or materials weighing up to 50 pounds to assist with security tasks or emergencies.
  • Secure heavy items or assist with moving necessary supplies as part of the role.
  • Situational Awareness: Utilize strong vision and hearing abilities to monitor surroundings, identify potential security threats, and detect alarms or sounds of distress.
  • Conflict Resolution: De-escalate stressful or potentially volatile situations with professionalism, patience, and effective communication skills.
  • Prolonged Alertness: Maintain focus and remain alert throughout long shifts, ensuring the safety and security of the premises.
  • Emergency Preparedness: Assist in evacuations or other emergency responses, utilizing physical stamina and agility to support individuals in need.
  • Reporting and Documentation: Keep accurate and detailed activity logs, documenting all patrols, incidents, and observations during the shift.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports for any incidents ensuring records are clear and precise for review.
  • Professionalism: Uphold a professional and positive demeanor at all times, representing the company and its clients with integrity and respect.
  • Adhere to legal standards, company policies, and client-specific protocols.
  • Maintain grooming and uniform standards consistently to project a polished and authoritative presence.
  • Exhibit strong interpersonal skills when interacting with the public, clients, and team members, ensuring respectful and courteous communication.
