Job Description As a Security Officer - Access Control in Ennis, TX , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare, and more. As an Allied Universal Security Officer supporting access control at a healthcare location, you will monitor entry points, greet staff and visitors, verify credentials, and manage visitor sign-in using a computer and/or tablet. You will conduct routine patrols of assigned areas, stay visible to help to deter security-related incidents, and communicate clearly with site teams. Bring customer-focused service while working with an agile, reliable, innovative team that leads with integrity.

Requirements

  • A guard card and/or license is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to staff, patients, and/or visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities in a healthcare location.
  • Operate access control points by greeting entrants, verifying identification, issuing and tracking badges and/or visitor passes, and directing visitors according to site protocols.
  • Monitor entry and exit activity, maintain required access logs, and report irregularities according to post orders.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including coordinating with site leadership and emergency services as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the facility and perimeter, checking doors, gates, and restricted areas for suspicious activity and/or policy violations.
