As an unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a busy retail location, you will conduct routine foot and vehicle patrols, stay highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents, and assist customers and staff with clear, professional communication. This is a driving post requiring a valid driver’s license. You will bring our agile, reliable, and innovative mindset to each shift, supporting a caring culture built on teamwork and integrity.
Requirements
- A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
- CPR Certification is preferred and may be completed post hire.
- CPR and/or First Aid is preferred and may be completed post hire.
- Customer Service Experience is preferred.
- Guard Card and/or License is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to clients, customers, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a retail location.
- Conduct regular and random patrols throughout sales floors, stock areas, and perimeter areas such as sidewalks and parking lots to help to deter theft, loitering, and other unwanted activity.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including disorderly conduct, medical situations, and fire or alarm activations, and request additional assistance when needed.
- Monitor entrances, exits, and common areas, observing for suspicious behavior, access concerns, and potential policy violations, and communicate observations to management and/or law enforcement as appropriate.
- Complete shift documentation and incident reports, note maintenance or hazard concerns for follow up, and support loss prevention efforts by observing and reporting suspected theft in accordance with site procedures.
