About The Position

As a Security Officer - Driving Role Patrol in Carleton, MI, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a leading tech, media, and telecom location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, complete routine foot and mobile patrols, and remain highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents. You will support access points, document observations, and provide a professional, customer-focused presence with clear communication. This is a driving post and requires a valid driver’s license under AU Driver Policy Requirements.

Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Access control and badge experience is preferred.
  • Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and contractors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a tech, media, and telecom location.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including documenting events and escalating to site leadership and/or emergency services as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout buildings, parking areas, and the perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and/or policy violations. Working environments and conditions may vary by site.
  • Monitor access points, verify identification and/or credentials, manage visitor check-in processes, and assist with delivery and contractor routing in accordance with site procedures.
  • Complete detailed reports and logs, communicate via radio and/or phone, and support alarm and camera monitoring where assigned to help maintain awareness of site conditions.
