About The Position

As a Security Officer - Unarmed Patrol Unit in Philadelphia, PA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at an education location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, and maintain a visible presence that may help to deter security-related incidents. You will communicate clearly with staff, students, and visitors, document observations, and respond to concerns with professionalism and care. Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to students, staff, and visitors by carrying out site-specific procedures, access control practices, and security-related policies at an educational location, including emergency response activities when appropriate.
  • Conduct regular and random foot patrols of buildings, classrooms, common areas, parking areas, and the perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or policy violations.
  • Monitor entrances and high-traffic areas, verify identification and/or visitor authorization as required, and direct visitors to appropriate check-in locations.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and requests for assistance in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and actions according to site procedures.
  • Communicate timely updates to site leadership and/or emergency services, and complete reports such as incident logs, patrol activity reports, and visitor records.
