About The Position

As a Security Officer - Front Entrance Screener in Indianapolis, IN, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. As a Screener at a busy logistics and distribution location, you will help support smooth operations by screening people and packages, checking badges, and monitoring entry points and surrounding areas. You will remain visible to help discourage security-related issues, document activity, and communicate clearly with team members and site leaders. Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and drivers by carrying out security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Screen and verify identification and authorization for individuals requesting entry, following access control procedures for a logistics and distribution location.
  • Monitor entry points and screening areas, observe for unusual activity, and help to deter unauthorized access or removal of property.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including documenting observations and notifying appropriate personnel.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the business and perimeter when assigned. Working environments and conditions may vary by location.
