As an Access Control Officer at a busy logistics and distribution location, you will greet drivers and associates, verify credentials, manage gate traffic, and document security-related activity with clear communication. You will stay visible, conduct routine patrols as needed, and respond to incidents while delivering customer service with integrity. This is a driving post requiring a valid driver’s license under AU Driver Policy Requirements, supported by Allied Universal’s agile, reliable, innovative, people-first teamwork.

Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • A guard card/license is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients and site personnel by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a logistics and distribution location.
  • Control access at gates, guard shacks, and/or entrances by verifying identification, issuing visitor credentials, maintaining visitor and contractor logs, and processing employee, visitor, and vendor check-in and check-out.
  • Manage vehicle and trailer access by checking driver credentials, reviewing shipping and receiving documentation, coordinating truck routing to docks and staging areas, and documenting inbound and outbound movements.
  • Monitor alarms, cameras, radios, and other access control systems, and report unusual activity that may help to deter unauthorized entry and/or loss.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and conduct regular and random patrols of entry points, loading areas, and the perimeter as required by post orders.
