Requirements

  • A guard card and/or security license is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to employees, contractors, drivers, and visitors by following site-specific security-related procedures and access control policies.
  • Control entry and exit at designated access points by checking credentials, issuing visitor passes, maintaining sign-in logs, and directing guests to the appropriate location.
  • Monitor and respond to alarms, radio calls, and unusual activity in a calm, problem-solving manner, and notify site leadership and/or emergency services as appropriate.
  • Support dock and gate operations by verifying delivery and pickup documentation, coordinating with shipping and receiving teams, and reporting suspicious or unauthorized activity to help to deter incidents.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned areas, including production-adjacent spaces, parking areas, and perimeter lines, with working environments and conditions varying by post.
