As an Allied Universal Officer at a residential community, you will support access control at entrances and amenities by greeting residents and guests, verifying credentials, logging visitors, and monitoring activity for security-related concerns. You will conduct routine patrols and remain visible to help to deter unwanted activity, while delivering clear communication and customer service. Requirements

  • Have at least 2 years of security-related experience.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • A guard card and/or license is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to residents, guests, and vendors by following security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Operate access control at entry points by verifying identification and/or resident authorization, managing visitor and vendor check-in, and maintaining accurate access logs.
  • Monitor alarms, cameras, intercoms, and gate or door systems as assigned, and report unusual activity to the appropriate parties to help to deter unauthorized access.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including documenting events and communicating with onsite management and/or emergency services when directed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of residential common areas and perimeter, checking doors, gates, and restricted areas, and documenting observations per post orders.
