About The Position

As a Security Officer - Entry Gate Driver in Columbia, SC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • COLA: DPSS/DHS – Tuberculosis test/MMR vaccinations.
  • Security Experience ‐ 6+ Months.
  • 21+ Years of Age.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to staff, visitors, contractors, and/or vendors by following site-specific access control procedures and security-related policies.
  • Control entry and exit at designated points by checking identification and/or authorization, issuing and collecting visitor credentials, and maintaining visitor and delivery logs.
  • Monitor alarms, cameras, radios, and/or other security-related systems, and report unusual activity according to post orders.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including initiating notifications and supporting emergency response activities as directed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned areas, entrances, and the perimeter as required by the location, noting and reporting maintenance issues and/or policy concerns.
