Job Description As a Security Officer - Entry Screening Driver in Baytown, TX , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Utilities, and more. Join Allied Universal at a utilities location in an access control role where you will manage entry and exit points, verify credentials, greet employees and visitors, and document activity with clear communication. You will support routine patrols and a visible presence that helps to deter security-related incidents, while partnering with site teams and acting with integrity. This is a driving post requiring a valid driver’s license in the job state.

Requirements

  • Valid Driver's License
  • A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
  • A guard card/license is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to employees, contractors, and visitors by following site-specific access control procedures at a utilities location, including confirming authorization, issuing temporary badges, and directing arrivals to the appropriate check-in points.
  • Control entry and exit for personnel and vehicles using gates, turnstiles, and/or credential readers; check deliveries against approved documentation and report irregularities per site policy.
  • Monitor cameras, alarms, and access control system activity for unusual conditions; document activity in logs and communicate updates to Allied Universal leadership and site contacts.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including supporting emergency response activities and notifying the appropriate personnel as required.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of entry points, staging areas, and the perimeter to help to deter unauthorized access and identify maintenance or operational concerns to be reported through the proper channels.
