You will conduct routine patrols on foot and/or by vehicle, stay highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents, and respond to alarms, calls for service, and unusual activity. You will also provide clear communication and helpful service to staff, students, and visitors while documenting observations. This is a driving post requiring a valid driver’s license.

Requirements

• Be at least 21 years of age.
• A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• Be able to ride a bike.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to students, staff, visitors, and contractors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of campus buildings, parking areas, entrances, and perimeter, watching for unusual activity and helping to deter unauthorized access.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; provide assistance with de-escalation and relay information to appropriate personnel and/or public services as needed.
• Monitor access points and visitor flow, confirm authorization when required, and report policy violations and/or concerning behavior according to post orders.
• Complete detailed incident reports, patrol logs, and shift turnover notes, and communicate security-related concerns to Allied Universal supervision and site leadership.
