As an unarmed Patrol Officer in a healthcare location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, and stay visible to help reduce security-related incidents. You will provide exceptional customer service, clear communication, and timely reporting while supporting patients, visitors, and staff. This post requires a valid driver’s license in the job state, and you will represent Allied Universal’s agile, reliable, innovative, people-first, integrity-driven approach through teamwork.

Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
  • A New York State Security Guard License is required.
  • A minimum of 6+ months of security experience is required.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to patients, visitors, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a healthcare location.
  • Conduct regular and random foot patrols of buildings, corridors, parking areas, and perimeter spaces to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or identify maintenance or operational concerns for escalation.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including assisting with de-escalation, coordinating with clinical staff, and requesting additional resources as needed.
  • Support access control and visitor management by monitoring entrances, verifying credentials when directed by site policy, and directing individuals to appropriate departments and/or check-in points.
  • Complete detailed security-related documentation such as incident reports, shift logs, and patrol findings, and communicate pertinent information to site leadership and/or Allied Universal supervision.
