As an Allied Universal Security Officer at a residential community, you will help manage access control by greeting residents and guests, verifying credentials, monitoring entry activity, and documenting security-related events. You may assist with visitor logging, basic alarm panel response, and using a computer and/or tablet to communicate updates. Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

  • Alarm panel experience is preferred.
  • A guard card and/or license is preferred.
  • Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to residents, guests, vendors, and/or delivery personnel by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Operate the access control post at the residential community entrance, verify identification and/or authorization, and document visitor, contractor, and service provider entry and exit.
  • Monitor gate activity, cameras and/or intercom systems as assigned, and report irregular activity per site-specific protocols.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including contacting property management and/or emergency services when directed by post orders.
  • Complete accurate reports such as visitor logs, incident reports, and shift activity documentation, and communicate relevant updates during shift transitions.
