As an Access Control Officer at a busy logistics and distribution location, you will help manage entry and exit points, check credentials, support visitor and driver check-ins, and keep accurate logs. You will maintain a visible presence, perform routine rounds, and communicate clearly to help identify and report security-related concerns. Requirements
- A minimum of 1+ years of security-related experience is required.
- A guard card and/or license is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to clients and visitors by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a logistics and distribution location.
- Control access to the facility by checking identification, verifying appointments and/or delivery documentation, issuing visitor credentials, and directing authorized personnel to appropriate areas.
- Monitor entry and exit points, truck gates, and receiving and shipping activity for unusual conditions, and report concerns according to post orders and escalation protocols.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including coordinating notifications, completing required reports, and supporting arriving responders as directed.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned areas, including interior spaces, exterior perimeter, and parking areas as applicable, with working environments and conditions varying by site.
