Requirements

  • Have 3+ years' combined law enforcement, military, and/or security experience OR a college degree.
  • Possess an armed guard card/license.
  • Possess a corrections officer license.
  • Possess a law enforcement officer license.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

  • A state, county, or city issued security license is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities at a government location.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including contacting appropriate personnel and/or public emergency services as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout buildings, public areas, and the perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or policy violations.
  • Monitor access points and visitor traffic, verify identification and/or credentials when required, and document security-related activity per site procedures.
  • Complete incident reports, shift logs, and other required documentation, and communicate updates to the Allied Universal supervisory team and site representatives.
