As a Patrol Officer in a healthcare location, you will conduct routine rounds, stay highly visible, and help identify and report unusual activity while providing outstanding customer service to staff, patients, and visitors. This is an armed and driving post, so you will perform mobile patrols, respond to calls for assistance, and communicate clearly with your team. Requirements

  • A minimum of 2 years of security experience is required.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
  • An armed guard card/license is required.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • A DCJS license is required for Virginia only.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to staff, patients, and/or visitors by carrying out Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of hospital or clinic buildings, parking areas, and perimeter to help identify unusual activity, hazards, and/or unsecured doors.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including disturbances, medical emergency notifications, fire alarms, and/or suspicious activity, and communicate updates per site procedures.
  • Monitor access points and public areas, help manage visitor flow, and report unauthorized access attempts while supporting patient privacy expectations.
  • Complete detailed incident reports and daily activity logs, document observations during rounds, and coordinate with site staff and/or local responders as required.
