You will complete routine rounds, document activity, and communicate clearly with staff and visitors while delivering strong customer service. Requirements

  • Have 2+ years of security experience.
  • Have 1+ years of armed security and/or law enforcement and/or military experience.
  • Have a DD214 with Honorable Discharge OR an Associates Degree and/or 60 college credits OR a Police Academy Certificate OR a Corrections Academy Certificate.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • An armed guard card and/or license is preferred.
  • Be comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients at a government location by following post orders, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response procedures while performing armed duties in accordance with licensing and training requirements.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols of the facility, grounds, and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or suspicious behavior; working environments and conditions may vary by site.
  • Monitor access points and verify identification, visitor authorization, and/or deliveries according to site procedures; maintain visitor and vehicle logs as required.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including de-escalation, notifying appropriate personnel, and/or requesting law enforcement or medical support when needed.
  • Complete detailed incident reports, daily activity logs, and/or other required documentation; communicate observations and handoffs to Allied Universal leadership and client representatives.
