As an Armed Patrol Officer in a healthcare location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, and maintain a visible presence to help to deter security-related incidents. You will provide clear communication and customer service to patients, visitors, and staff while responding to situations with professionalism and integrity. This post requires an armed guard card or license, and you will be supported by Allied Universal’s agile, reliable, innovative, people-first team culture.

Requirements

  • Have a minimum of 2 plus years of security-related experience.
  • Have an Armed Guard Card and/or license.
  • Be at least 21 plus years of age.
  • Be able to lift up to 20 lbs preferred.
  • Have CPR and/or First Aid preferred.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to patients, visitors, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a healthcare location.
  • Conduct armed foot and/or vehicle patrols of buildings, entrances, parking areas, and perimeter areas, completing routine patrol documentation as required by site policy.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, using verbal de-escalation techniques and requesting medical staff and/or law enforcement support when needed.
  • Control access at designated points by screening authorized entry, monitoring visitor flow, and assisting with directions and conflict resolution in waiting areas and other public spaces.
  • Maintain readiness of issued equipment consistent with policy, including proper weapon retention practices, radio communications, and reporting of hazards, suspicious activity, and policy violations.
