As an Access Control Officer with Allied Universal at a busy logistics and distribution location, you will help monitor entry points, verify credentials, issue badges, and manage visitor and driver check-in using computer and/or tablet tools. You will conduct routine patrols of assigned areas, remain highly visible to help discourage security-related incidents, and provide clear, professional customer service while supporting smooth daily operations through teamwork and integrity.

Requirements

  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
  • Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients and site personnel by following security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a logistics and distribution location.
  • Control access at gates and entry points by verifying identification, issuing visitor credentials, maintaining visitor and contractor logs, and directing deliveries and pickups per site requirements.
  • Monitor inbound and outbound vehicle and trailer activity by documenting check-ins and check-outs, confirming authorization, and communicating irregularities to the appropriate site contact.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including notifying the proper personnel and completing reports as required.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the facility and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or policy violations, noting maintenance concerns and unusual conditions.
